How to Install a Bodyboard Leash

Text Version:

1) How do I install my leash and where should the plug go?

Before installing a leash you will need a ruler, a quarter and a Phillips head screwdriver. What you want to do is measure about 6” to 7” down from the nose and find a spot where you want the leash to be attached. It is best to put it off to one side of the middle depending on what arm you wear the leash. Placing the leash directly in the middle can lead to hitting the stringer, which could quite possibly ruin your board. You also want to be sure that the leash is at leash 2” away from the rail.
When installing the leash, you want to mark a perfect place in which to install the leash. Take your Phillips head screwdriver and pierce the board all the way through from top to bottom. Now take the male and female parts of the leash plug and connect them together through the board. You want the plug to be tight and flush to prevent rubbing.
